Current Projects The Campaign for Clean Stalls
Dec 2008—The HOOFS Fund is working with the U.S. Park Police (USPP) to clean and disinfect stalls in spring 2009 at their largest police-horse facility in the Washington, D.C. area—the Edgewater Training Stables in Rock Creek Park. As many as two dozen horses live and work in the aging facility, which includes 25 stalls.
The HOOFS Fund is also helping at another USPP stable, this one on the National Mall, where excessive bird droppings in the stalls pose a potential health hazard to horses and humans alike. The HOOFS Fund will work with USPP to help implement a simple, cost-effective, and humane solution.

Where Does the Money Go? Your gift to The HOOFS Fund:
Provides funds, materials and labor to directly improve the working and living conditions of police horses;
Creates training opportunities and support for volunteers who dedicate time and effort to caring for police horses;
Supports the dissemination of best practices in the care and training of police horses.
Makes programming available for mounted police officers, volunteers, and horse enthusiasts on topics such as stable management, nutrition, and veterinarian medicine;
Strengthens community ties and builds public-private partnerships that support the safety, well-being, health, and training of police horses for the long-term.
We are a volunteer-run organization. Our administrative expenses are minimal, so more of your contribution goes directly to the horses. We also accept in-kind donations. If you would like to make one, please contact us to discuss your gift.
